Founder Families Harvest Thanksgiving – Sunday 23rd April 2017

Hosted by founder families Henschke and Angas, guided by Appellation’s new generation chefs, tour and taste ancient Barossa recipes in today’s time and place.

Your day starts with a gentle walk of the glorious landscapes of Hutton Vale Farm, led by the Angas family, to picturesque Mount Edelstone Vineyard, where the Henschke’s will share a first taste of the new vintage Mt Edelstone Shiraz.

Chef Ryan Edwards and team will prepare a modern-day thanksgiving feast of recipes from classic Barossa cookbooks honouring ancient foodways and giving gratitude to the gifts of centuries of land stewardship, for you to enjoy as you wander the old orchards and lunch surrounded by heritage countryside.

The beautiful 2000 acre Hutton Vale Farm, with its rolling hills, big red gums and cherished antiques, is the perfect setting to enjoy a shared table lunch of hopped bread fresh from the 1930’s wood oven, wild game pies, butchered and cured meats from the land, greens and vegetables from the Hutton Vale garden, traditionally preserved fruits and delicious puddings from yesteryear.

Limited to just 30 seats, this is your chance to connect with the genuine Barossa, its food, wine, land and people.

$210 per person for a long lunch with iconic wines and privately hosted by the founder families of Barossa on their land.
